انتظار داشتن (به زبان انگلیسی)

گفت پیغمبر که جنّت از اِلٰه‌
گر همی‌خواهی، ز کَس چیزی مخواه

(مولوی، مثنوی، دفتر ششم، بیت ۳۳۳)

 

Rumi, Mathnavi, Book 6, Line 0333

The Prophet said, “If you desire Paradise from God,  desire nothing from any one.

According to Molana (Rumi): The Prophet said if you are truly looking for Paradise, then only ask God, because if we end up looking to or even thinking that we can sull get or borrow something from humans or this world, it means that we have expectauons. In this case, we stop everything ourselves and stand in our own way.

So, axer that, we’re going to ask ourselves:

 What should I do then?

The only right thing that we should do is open space and make our inner centre empty of all thoughts and all the expectauons we have from people, from the world around us, and even from God.

Instead, without having any expectauons, we should trust God and be grateful to God for the moment we are in now.”
